The city of Kissimmee and the unincorporated town of Celebration are located approximately eight miles apart in an east-west direction in Osceola County, Florida, and share a 34747 zip code.  

Formerly known as Allendale, the city of Kissimmee got its new name when it incorporated in 1883. From the late 1800s until the creation of Walt Disney World the town was a ranching community, supporting open range cattle ranching. With the opening of the theme park, Kissimmee has transitioned into a tourist destination. Today the city is home to approximately 70,000 people, and its two largest employers are the county school district and The Walt Disney Company. In addition to the nearby theme parks, Kissimmee has its own unique attractions including Gatorland, one of Central Florida’s earliest tourist attractions, and Old Town, a recreated shopping complex from earlier times with singular shops, boutiques, restaurants, live entertainment, and an 86-foot high Ferris Wheel. Residents can also shop and dine in several shopping malls and plazas in Kissimmee as well as the many independent stores and restaurants located throughout town. The city has lakes and parks for recreation, and family-friendly entertainment is just a short drive away. 

The town of Celebration is a master-planned community initially developed by The Walt Disney Company. Home to about 8,500 people the town is made up of several villages, each with a distinct character. The first neighborhood built, Celebration Village, houses the community’s downtown area which has small shops, boutiques, service businesses, and several restaurants and eateries. Between them, the villages offer amenities such as pools, playgrounds, ball courts, walking trails, picnic areas, and open areas or stages for neighborhood events. In addition to the downtown area, more shopping and dining is available near U.S. Route 192, which is the town’s northern border. For many people one of the best features of Celebration is its proximity to Walt Disney World north of town. World Drive goes through town and takes you directly to Disney’s main entrance in less than fifteen minutes.  

Real estate in Kissimmee/Celebration consists of condominiums, townhouses, and single-family houses for sale. Floor plans range from one bedroom, 700 square foot condos to 8,000 square foot custom homes with six or more bedrooms. Homes for sale featuring expansive front lawns, large master suites, ten-foot ceilings, and gourmet kitchens are available in architectural styles such as French Country, Craftsman, Colonial, and Ranch.
